a passion for premmies

In May 2017, Amanda’s son Oliver was born nine weeks prematurely, weighing just 1500 grams.

Thanks to the incredible medical team at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Royal Brisbane Hospital and life-saving equipment, Oliver survived and is now a thriving, curious, clever, funny little boy.

In 2019, Amanda became the Queensland Ambassador for Running for Premature Babies, an incredible charity that has raised over $7 million for life-saving equipment for NICU’s across Australia, giving premature babies a better chance of survival. Each year, Amanda takes on running challenges to raise money for RFPB, including donating a percentage of her speaking fees each November, raising in excess of $10,000 for the foundation to date.
